Description
- Assess patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using established protocols and observational strategies.
- Create tailored treatment plans that address immediate goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
- Conduct individualized speech therapy sessions focused on communication, fluency, voice, and swallowing interventions.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, physicians, caregivers, and family members, to forge unified care strategies.
- Guide patients and families in understanding how they can support ongoing progress outside of clinical visits.
- Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions to ensure seamless care throughout the recovery journey.
- Keep precise and timely documentation that complies with state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Engage in professional development through continuous education and collaboration with peers.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not ASHA-certified.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Strong foundation in evidence-based treatment for all age groups, with a deep understanding of both developmental and acquired communication and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills that foster connection with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams.
