Baal & Spots is looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Web Developer to join our team in Houston. If you have a passion for creating exceptional and award-winning digital experiences with strong capabilities and talent in multiple languages and frameworks, we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with project managers, developers, designers, content writers, and clients in a professional, clear, and friendly manner
Develop pixel-perfect websites and interactive experiences with a wide range of libraries, APIs, web services, frameworks, and CMSs
Provide ongoing support and maintenance for websites built with WordPress and React
Learn latest frameworks, techniques and standards
Experience
Comfortable with ambiguity, self-sufficiency and effective at being proactive in projects
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Possess a strong aesthetic sense for how animations and interactions should look, feel and move
Excellent knowledge in code versioning best practices (Git) and takes pride in proper code hygiene
Worked with WordPress before and is familiar with other CMSs
Familiar with modern front-end build pipelines and tools (Webpack, Node, etc.)
Working knowledge of React + NextJS / Gatsby, headless CMSs, and serverless functions
Familiar with RESTful / GraphQL APIs
Knowledge in navigating and exporting assets from Sketch app and other design tools.
Has a passion for building interactive websites using CSS animations, WebGL, Lottie.js, Three.js, etc.
More bonus points if you have experience with AR, VR, native app development, or DevOps
