Still Austin Whiskey Co.
We’re Still Austin Whiskey Co., a craft distillery in Austin, Texas, founded in 2014 by Cleveland and Chris Seals — a father-and-son team who started the distillery as a post-retirement project and a way to reconnect with each other.
Since then, we’ve become one of the fastest growing whiskey brands in the country, winning the illustrious Double Gold Award for quality from the San Francisco World Spirits Awards multiple years in a row for each of our flagship spirits.
We make bourbon and rye whiskeys in-house from grain all the way to glass using only grains from sourced from local Texas farmers.
Because we distill our whiskey in Texas, the erratic weather allows us to age our whiskeys to maturity faster than in places like Kentucky where they have more predictable weather patterns. For example, our flagship bourbon, The Musician, is aged for almost 3 years, but has depth and complexity comparable to Kentucky bourbons that might be 4 - 6 years old.
We’re led by world-renowned Master Blender Nancy Fraley, who works alongside our Master Distiller, John Schrepel. Together, they were the first to bring a centuries-old Armagnac aging technique to bourbon — called slow water reduction — allowing us to harness the intense Texas heat to mature our whiskeys to perfection in a fraction of the time.
One of the things we’re most known for is how unique our labels are. Being from Austin, art and creativity are a huge part of our culture. So each of our flagship spirit labels features hand-painted custom art by world renowned artist, Marc Burkhardt, as fitting tributes to the creativity that goes into making each bottle of our whiskey.
