Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough evaluations across various age groups utilizing both standardized assessments and observational methods.
- Craft tailored treatment plans that focus on immediate goals as well as long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
- Implement one-on-one speech therapy sessions that focus on areas such as language, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing.
- Work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, and family members to establish unified care approaches.
- Provide guidance and education to patients and families to enhance progress beyond therapy sessions.
- Assist with some inpatient evaluations and interventions to ensure seamless care throughout the therapy process.
- Maintain meticulous documentation that meets the regulatory standards set by state and federal guidelines.
- Engage in ongoing professional development through education and collaboration with peers.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet obtained.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first month of employment.
- Expertise in evidence-based treatments for patients of all ages, with robust knowledge of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing challenges.
- Outstanding interpersonal abilities to engage with patients, families, and care teams.
- Capacity to tailor therapy approaches to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong analytical thinking and clinical problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable with electronic medical records and documentation procedures.
