Description
- Conduct evaluations across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations utilizing established assessments and observational methods.
- Create customized treatment plans addressing both short-term objectives and long-term needs related to communication, cognition, or swallowing.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions focused on language, fluency, voice, and swallowing deficits.
- Engage in teamwork with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to implement coordinated care strategies.
- Provide education to both patients and families to support ongoing progress outside of therapy sessions.
- Occasionally assist with inpatient evaluations and therapy, ensuring seamless continuity of care through every stage of treatment.
- Maintain precise documentation that complies with state, federal, and organizational protocols.
- Commit to staying abreast of the latest developments in the field through continuous education and collaboration with peers.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not currently ASHA-certified.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first 30 days of employment.
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods for all ages, combined with a solid comprehension of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to foster communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Flexibility in adapting therapy techniques to accommodate various cultural and linguistic requirements.
- Strong clinical judgment paired with creative problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in utilizing electronic medical records and adhering to documentation standards.
