Position Summary The Director of Digital Marketing leads the strategy, execution, and optimization of Sound Income Group’s digital presence while supporting the advisor network through scalable systems and campaigns. This role blends strategic leadership and hands‑on management to drive brand growth, engagement, and measurable results in full compliance with SEC and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Execution:

Develop and execute comprehensive digital marketing strategies across social media, email, search, and paid platforms that align with agency and client objectives. Ensure all campaigns meet compliance requirements for financial and retirement communication, tailoring messaging to the target demographic. Introduce new tools, trends, and technologies to enhance digital performance and maintain the agency’s competitive edge.

Leadership and Team Management:

Lead, motivate, and mentor a digital team of 6–10 professionals, promoting efficiency, collaboration, and accountability. Oversee daily workflows and performance using platforms such as ClickUp and Figma. Foster continuous learning and ensure staff have the tools, skills, and support needed to excel in a fast‑paced, high‑expectation environment.

Client Partnership and Communication:

Serve as the primary contact for clients, building strong relationships with financial advisors and their teams. Communicate strategy, progress, and results clearly and professionally, providing proactive recommendations backed by data. Collaborate closely with clients and internal stakeholders to balance creative concepts with compliance standards, ensuring timely and effective campaign delivery.

Budgeting, Analytics, and Optimization:

Manage department and campaign budgets, allocating resources effectively for maximum ROI. Utilize analytics tools to track and interpret campaign performance, identify insights, and optimize outcomes. Drive conversion rate optimization (CRO) and funnel performance through data‑driven testing and analysis. Apply digital attribution modeling to evaluate campaign effectiveness and measure revenue contribution across channels. Leverage marketing automation platforms to enhance lead nurturing, customer engagement, and operational efficiency. Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and clients in a clear, results‑oriented format.

Continuous Improvement and Culture:

Champion a results‑driven and transparent culture where performance data drives decision‑making and improvement. Promote accountability through clear expectations and by modeling professional ownership of successes and challenges. Support a collaborative atmosphere that values initiative, problem‑solving, and team morale.

Must‑Have Qualifications

Background and Education

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field (preferred, not required)

5–10 years of digital marketing experience, ideally within the financial or retirement industry, or in an agency serving financial clients

Proven ability to manage teams and delegate effectively in a high‑performance environment

Strong understanding of compliance and regulatory standards affecting financial marketing campaigns

Demonstrated analytical mindset with ability to interpret data and translate findings into strategic action

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with professionalism and confidence in client‑facing settings

Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple projects with competing priorities

Technology Expertise

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, content management systems, ClickUp, and Figma; Adobe Creative Suite experience preferred

Experience managing paid media across major platforms, particularly Meta Ads

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

Ability to work for extended periods at a desk using a computer

Ability to lift up to 10 pounds if/when necessary

Routine use of telephone and email

Office‑based role with potential travel to conferences, events, and satellite offices as needed
