We are presently searching for an Architectural Designer/Job Captain for our New York City studio . The Architectural Designer is responsible for leading all design phases for interiors projects, establishing the vision, leading the team, and having extensive client interaction. Responsibilities Assist in overall technical design for project Direct staff to complete design and technical drawing Review design and technical drawing of other more junior designers Review engineering drawings to ensure they comply with design solution Work with technical staff to resolve inconsistencies in drawings Aid in the creation of floor plans, elevations, architectural and millwork details, and overall design intent sets for the Request for Proposal (RFP) process and distribution to architects. Review and redline construction documents, shop drawings, and related submittals Produce, review and finalize space plans for projects Have extensive knowledge of detailing and finalize details on projects Review and produce final cost estimates In unusual circumstances may be required to assist with support for field surveys Ensure adherence to set budget and immediately inform PM and/or client of any potential variances to the budget Manage the work of other Designers Oversee tasks and provide feedback on work product Organize and conduct client interviews to determine space needs and requirements Continue to provide needed information to client on design specifications; good working knowledge of Affinity program tool Qualifications Graduate of architecture school: equivalent experience may be substituted 5+ years’ experience in corporate or workplace design projects preferred Strong Revit Skills Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Extensive knowledge of design principles Extensive knowledge of store planning methodology Proficient with the concepts of furniture layout Expert sketching and rendering skills Extensive knowledge of CDs and procedures Extensive knowledge of building systems, codes and ADA requirements Extensive knowledge of contract administration Commitment to support projects through peaks and valleys Advanced Revit skills Advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills Affinity Program skills or equivalent Extensive verbal and written communication skills Extensive presentation and graphic communication Demonstrated ability to manage and lead staff through a combination of direct authority and subject matter expertise Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000 (based on education, licensing and industry experience) Seniority level Associate Employment type Full-time Job function Art/Creative, Information Technology, and Design Industries Architecture and Planning, Construction, and Design Services Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at IA Interior Architects by 2x.
