Telecommunications BIM Designer
We’re looking for a skilled BIM Designer to join our telecommunications team. This role focuses on design documentation while managing Revit BIM models in coordination with other discipline BIM leads and team members. You will work under the direction of the telecom discipline or project leads, showcasing your Revit expertise while adhering to Jacobs and client BIM standards. Using Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD, you will create and manage content toward fully coordinated 3D models across all design disciplines and produce 2D construction drawings. Your work will be part of our telecom design team, turning design intent into constructable, clash‑free deliverables.
Base pay range $71,000.00/yr - $93,150.00/yr
Here’s what you'll need
High school graduate or equivalent
At least 3 years of BIM design experience
At least 3 years of relevant experience in telecommunications systems design and construction
A growing understanding of how codes and standards shape design decisions
A growing understanding of design and construction specifications and their function
Basic understanding of wiring/cabling connections in relation to a circuit or a link between devices and equipment
Experience following client design and modeling standards
Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar markup software
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to estimate hours required for design and modeling efforts based on provided mark‑ups and/or verbal direction requests
Willingness to learn new things
Ideally, you’ll also have
At least 3 years of Revit and/or AutoCAD design experience
Understanding of data center environments
Knowledge and design experience with paging, intercom and audio‑visual systems
Knowledge and design experience with life safety and security systems, fire alarms, access control, CCTV (Closed Circuit Television)
Knowledge of control systems, network components and topology
