Job Overview We’re looking for a Telecommunications BIM Designer to work with our team in the U.S. Locations.
Base Pay Range $71,000.00/yr – $93,150.00/yr
Responsibilities As a BIM Designer, you will be engaged in design documentation, set‑up and management of Revit BIM models in coordination with other discipline BIM leads and team members. Working under the direction of telecom discipline or project leads, this position showcases your Revit expertise while staying in accordance with Jacobs and client BIM standards. Using a mixture of the Revit, Navisworks and AutoCAD software platforms you will create and manage content toward fully coordinated 3D models across all design disciplines (C,S,A,M,E,P,T,I,L) and 2D construction drawings. You will be part of our telecom design team turning the design intent of senior staff into constructible deliverables including clash‑free 3D models.
Qualifications — Minimum
High school graduate or equivalent
At least 3 years of BIM design experience
At least 3 years of relevant experience in telecommunications systems design and construction industry
Growing understanding of codes and standards that shape design decisions
Understanding of design and construction specifications and their function
Basic understanding of wiring/cabling connections in relation to a circuit or a link between devices and equipment
Experience following client design and modeling standards
Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar markup software
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to estimate hours required for design and modeling efforts based on provided mark‑ups and/or verbal direction requests
Willingness to learn new things
Preferred Qualifications
At least 3 years of Revit and/or AutoCAD design experience
Understanding of data center environments
Knowledge and design experience with paging, intercom and audio‑visual systems
Knowledge and design experience with life safety and security systems, fire alarms, access control, CCTV
Knowledge of control systems, network components and topology
