Technical Designer. This position collaborates closely with Project Directors and the 2D design team to develop programming, methodologies, designs, and details for signage, wayfinding, and exhibit components. You will bring concepts to life through the technical phases of each project by creating scaled and annotated drawings, solving material and fabrication challenges, and designing impactful signage and wayfinding solutions. Responsibilities
Work collaboratively in a studio setting to translate design concepts into technical drawings for building branding, graphics/murals, exhibits, signage, and wayfinding for a wide range of clients Participate in studio-wide design charettes and collaborate with teammates to shape projects from initial concept through final design Participate in concept development of code and wayfinding signage design Create technical drawings and specifications for construction documents Create detailed location plans and message schedules Manage time to develop creative solutions within a budget and schedule Work with the 2D design team to review samples, shop drawings and participate in site visits Qualifications
3+ years of experience in architecture, industrial design, construction, or EGD industry Strong knowledge of 3D space, materials, and the built environment Understanding of architectural scales and drawings Excellent communication skills, as well as the ability to think strategically and manage multiple deadlines Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), Google applications and Sketchup A solid understanding of history and trends in architecture, design, and art Proficiency in CADTools a plus, but not required Travel reimbursement for hybrid employees Reimbursement allocation for professional development Compensation and Benefits
Base pay range: $55,000.00/yr - $65,000.00/yr Full-time, exempt 13 paid Holidays Parental leave pay Simple IRA with 3% match after one year of employment Comprehensive Gold-level health, dental, and vision insurance Optional studio-wide work from home days after 6 months of employment Travel reimbursement for hybrid employees Reimbursement allocation for professional development Location and Employment Type
