Communications Specialist, Full Time (ON SITE)

Description
The Communications Specialist works under the Exec. Director of Recruitment and Network Development to help implement requested marketing campaigns for Unity Health, responsible for internal communications and internal day-to-day marketing requests. Assist in developing and executing marketing/PR activities, programs, and campaigns that support strategic plan goals to increase awareness and utilization of Unity Health.
The Communications Specialist will have frequent interactions with department directors, administrative leaders, physicians, medical staff, business representatives, and the public. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. The Communications Specialist will be required to produce and edit a wide variety of hospital marketing materials, write AP style content regularly, copy edit thoroughly, draft award applications for Unity Health, conduct interviews and write articles. The Communications Specialist will also assist with social media, event planning and be the key contact for external events in the community when needed.
Must exhibit the ability to set priorities, organize workload, plan, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Key Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or related field.
Training and Experience: Prefer three years of experience in marketing, public relations, digital planning, business development, writing, journalism, advertising, community relations, planning, and effective communication. Self-starter with strong organizational skills, proficient in MS Office Suite. Design capabilities helpful. Healthcare, hospital, or hospitality experience preferred.
Job Knowledge: Understanding of advertising, community and public relations, journalism (AP Style), and marketing. Demonstrated ability to function as an influential member of multidisciplinary teams. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
