As we continue to grow, we're seeking an experienced and detail-obsessed Director of Technical Design to lead our technical team and elevate the precision, quality, and fit of our entire product line.


Position Overview:

The Director of Technical Design will oversee the technical development process for all categories within our children’s and Juniors collections. This leadership role requires a highly skilled technical designer who can balance fit perfection with production realities. You will be responsible for managing a team of technical designers, collaborating closely with design, production, and overseas factories to ensure our garments meet the highest standards in fit, construction, and functionality.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the technical design team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
  • Oversee fit development from concept through final production, ensuring brand consistency and size accuracy
  • Conduct and lead fittings, evaluating fit and construction, and providing clear, actionable feedback
  • Create and maintain detailed tech packs, spec sheets, graded measurements, and construction comments
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Production, and Sourcing to align on design intent and execution
  • Establish and enforce fit standards, blocks, and quality control processes across all size ranges
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with overseas factories on construction, specs, and sample corrections
  • Analyze returns, customer feedback, and fit issues to continually improve garment performance
  • Stay up to date on industry standards, technology, and best practices in children’s technical design


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, or related field
  • Minimum 10+ years of technical design experience in apparel, preferably children’s or junior's wear
  • At least 3 years of experience managing a technical team
  • Exceptional knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, grading, and fit across various silhouettes
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Excel, and PLM systems
  • Strong knowledge of size standards, safety regulations, and fit requirements for children’s apparel
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple timelines and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working with overseas factories and managing production sample cycles
