We are looking for a leader to develop systems for healthcare workers, specifically related to airway management in acute care settings such as operating room, intensive care unit and emergency department. The role sits at the intersection of user experience and systems engineering, applying deep technical expertise to realize challenging design goals.
Responsibilities
Lead a team of systems engineers and designers in defining, developing, and supporting complex medical‑device systems for airway management and intubation.
Drive functional strategy to advance systems & design engineering through process improvements, best practices, and organizational change.
Direct and review the work of individual contributors, ensuring adherence to functional excellence expectations.
Mentor and develop team members, providing opportunities to grow technical and soft‑skill proficiency.
Lead cross‑functional teams to make timely decisions and recommendations for major organizational objectives.
Implement human‑centered design principles; facilitate formative and summative assessments.
Communicate with functional partners to plan, evaluate, and develop technical solutions.
Ensure programs have robust technical solutions and risk‑burndown plans.
Lead multiple design activities in the product development life cycle, including planning, monitoring, and execution for entire projects.
Provide authoritatively on medical product development, regulations, and standards.
Assist functional managers and contributors in overcoming challenges; support key efforts when major technical hurdles arise.
Advise on new systems‑model‑based tools, processes, and practices for greater efficiency.
Identify and assess long‑term opportunities for the systems & design engineering function (3‑5‑year horizon).
Partner in evaluating viability and technical risks of specific technologies and collaborations.
Travel Requirements Travel as needed, approximately 10%.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
7+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in a managerial capacity.

Benefits & Compensation
Salary range (U.S. – excluding Puerto Rico): $168,800.00 – $253,200.00.
