Job Summary We are seeking a creative and technically proficient Lighting Designer to join our team. This role involves contributing to architectural lighting design projects across high end residential, healthcare, ports/harbors, education, federal, and municipal sectors. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in lighting principles, experience with design software, and a collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities Design Assistance

Develop lighting design concepts that balance aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability to enhance architectural intent and user experience.

Support lighting design tasks, including layout development, photometric calculations, and concept refinement.

Participate in mock-ups, design presentations, and renderings.

Conduct research and site inspections to assess existing conditions and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.

Assist in developing lighting controls specifications.

Produce accurate documentation using Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, and AGI32.

Contribute to energy and economic calculations and building certification compliance (e.g., LEED, WELL).

Support the development of marketing materials for project pursuits.

Construction Administration

Review submittals and respond to RFIs during construction.

Generate meeting reports and punch lists to track progress and issues.

Management & Collaboration

Demonstrate effective time and task management across multiple projects.

Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and other design professionals to integrate lighting seamlessly into overall project design.

Mentor junior designers and contribute to internal design standards.

Other Duties

Occasional travel for site visits or project meetings.

Additional tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Lighting Design, Architecture, Interior Design, Architectural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

5–15 years of experience in architectural lighting design.

Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, AGI32.

Strong understanding of lighting codes, energy-efficient design principles, and control systems.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

LC, CLD, LEED AP, WELL AP, or other relevant certifications.

Involved with IES or IALD.

Experience with advanced rendering tools (e.g., DIAlux, 3ds Max, Elum Tools, SketchUp, Grasshopper, DIVA, Lumion).

Familiarity with sustainability and daylighting analysis tools.
