(IFSS) is looking for a detail‑driven and experienced Fire Alarm Project & Design Manager to lead the execution and design of fire alarm system projects across commercial, industrial, and government sectors. Key Responsibilities
Plan and execute fire alarm system installation projects from pre‑construction through closeout.
Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets.
Lead project meetings, manage procurement, and monitor progress.
Ensure code compliance and coordinate with AHJs for permitting and inspections.
Identify risks early and resolve installation or design issues promptly.
Oversee and approve fire alarm system designs to meet client and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with drafting teams using AutoCAD, Revit, and similar tools.
Provide technical leadership in equipment selection and layout efficiency.
Prepare detailed cost estimates and client proposals.
Analyze material costs, labor, and subcontractor pricing for competitive bids.
Maintain a pricing and production rate database to streamline future estimating.
Client Relations & Development Serve as the primary client contact, providing proactive communication and site evaluations. Present additional service opportunities to clients and participate in business development.
Travel Travel 2–4 days/month for site reviews, client meetings, and project milestones.
Overarching Design Management Lead and manage design processes for all company projects (not just fire alarm).
Mentor internal design team and coordinate cross‑functionally with PMs and estimators.
Ensure all designs comply with NFPA, IBC, and local codes.
Introduce tools and practices to improve design efficiency and innovation.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred).
5+ years of fire alarm systems project management experience.
Required certifications: F‑Card, NICET, OSHA‑30, Lift Certification, CPR, and Siemens (or equivalent) programming.
Deep understanding of fire alarm codes and standards (NFPA, IBC).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering design software.
Strong communication, client service, and problem‑solving abilities.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation.
Willingness to travel and work independently.
