Position: SolidWorks/NX Designer
Location: Batavia, IL (Onsite)
Duration: 12+ Months contract with possible extension
Statement of Work – SolidWorks/NX Designer
Quality & Materials Department, Design/Drafting Group
The Seller shall provide a Designer to work in the Design/Drafting Group of the Applied Physics & Superconducting Technology Division of DOE.
Requirements:
The Designer will work onsite under limited supervision to prepare mechanical designs and drawings utilizing NX1980 and Teamcenter, correctly applying the ASME Y14.5-M-1994 (or higher) GD&T standard.
This work will be done to support projects within APS-TD DUNE.
The work will be done using Design/Drafting procedures, working to meet project schedules and other requirements, and will include working directly with the engineering staff working on the projects to research and analyze design solutions, coordinate design development, and specify and select design components and materials.
Knowledge of NX 1980 and Teamcenter is beneficial.
Design tolerance and stack up calculations, layout designs, detailing, advanced level 3D models, and 2D drawings required for the project.
Deliverable Format and Quantity:
3D models and 2D drawings are completed in SolidWorks, managed in Windchill, NX and Team Center.
Quantity will be directed by DOE for each task.
Knowledge of NX 1980 and Teamcenter is beneficial.
Quality Assurance:
Work shall be performed in accordance with the DOE QAM and APS-TD and Design/Drafting Procedures.
All work will be reviewed, checked, and approved by DOE staff responsible for the specific task.
Location of Work:
Onsite at Batavia, IL - with possibility of remote work
8-hour shift between 7am – 5pm
Pre-requirements:
Demonstrate acceptable proficiency in SolidWorks/NX via an interview through the ZOOM meeting portal.
A minimum of a 5 years of experience as Designer.
Ability to deliver a quality work product to deadline-driven projects.
