The Role: DME Marketing Representative (Respiratory Focus)

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to drive referrals and foster strong relationships specifically focused on

Non-Sleep Respiratory Durable Medical Equipment . The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in healthcare sales, deep knowledge of chronic respiratory conditions and equipment, and established contacts with key pulmonary care providers. Key Responsibilities

Identify, develop, and maintain strong relationships with key respiratory referral sources, including Pulmonologists, Respiratory Therapists (RTs), Case Managers, and Discharge Planners specializing in complex pulmonary cases, and post-acute facilities. Drive sales growth by increasing the volume of patient referrals for our core respiratory products: Invasive and Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV), Oxygen Therapy (portable and stationary), high‑flow systems, and various airway clearance equipment and therapy. Clinical and Payer Expertise

Act as a subject matter expert on our respiratory equipment, providing educational in‑services on product features, patient qualification criteria, and payer requirements. Ensure referrals align with complex coverage criteria, demonstrating an understanding of the documentation requirements necessary for reimbursement under various payer guidelines. Sales Strategy & Execution

Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the specialized non‑sleep respiratory product line. Develop strategic territory plans to effectively target high‑potential accounts, including hospital systems with large pulmonary disease management programs. Administration

Maintain accurate and detailed records of sales activities and referral interactions in the CRM system. Collaborate closely with our internal operational and clinical teams to ensure seamless patient transitions, timely discharges, and clinical documentation compliance. Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree preferred (Marketing, Business, or Respiratory Therapy a significant plus). Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of successful outside sales experience specifically marketing Non‑Sleep Respiratory DME, home ventilation, or complex oxygen/respiratory medical devices. Existing professional relationships with Pulmonologists or Case Management or Discharge Departments in the territory is highly advantageous. Reimbursement Knowledge (Crucial)

Demonstrated experience and strong working knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid (or Medi‑Cal/state‑equivalent) guidelines as they relate to qualifying patients and obtaining coverage for Non‑Sleep Respiratory DME. Proven ability to navigate and educate on documentation requirements for Medicare, Medi‑Cal, and commercial insurance payers. Skills

Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship‑building skills. Deep working knowledge of chronic respiratory diseases (e.g., severe COPD, neuromuscular disease). Self‑starter with excellent organizational skills. Requirements

Must have a clean, valid driver’s license and be able to travel extensively within the assigned territory. Benefits
