Junior Mechanical/Piping Designer
Stantec is hiring a
Junior Mechanical/Piping Designer
to join our Integrated Design team. This role will involve working on diverse industrial projects across the Energy and Resource sector, ranging from studies to detailed engineering in North America and worldwide.
Opportunity As part of a dynamic, collaborative environment, you will design mechanical and piping systems with minimal supervision, contribute to project success, and grow technically through exposure to a broad portfolio of projects.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare or coordinate contract drawings, sketches, and concept design through to construction.
Collaborate with Mechanical group members, other Stantec disciplines, and clients to achieve project success.
Carry out assignments on project design teams.
Prepare P&ID and Flow Diagrams.
Communicate effectively with team members in the department or project team.
Produce drawings using AutoCAD, Plant3d, Cadworx, Inventor, Solidworks, Revit, AvevaE3D, MicroStation, etc.
Model and design piping and mechanical systems in 3D.
Collect and verify data in client facilities.
Create isometric drawings and provide field representation and drawing interpretation.
Capabilities and Credentials
1–3 years of experience in the industrial consulting industry.
Bilingual in French and English is an asset.
Strong collaborative skills working with single or multi-discipline teams.
Effective written and verbal communication.
Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
Commitment to Stantec’s Employee Health and Safety (EH&S) program.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Windows, Word, Excel, Access).
Ability to work in a technology‑evolving environment with changing assignments.
Education and Experience
Technical degree, diploma, certificate, or equivalent in a related field.
At least 1–3 years of experience.
Pay Range
MN, OH, VT, & various CA, NY areas – $49,700.00 – $67,100.00
CO, HI, IL, MD & various CA, NJ areas – $54,700.00 – $73,800.00
WA, DC & various CA, MA areas – $58,600.00 – $79,200.00
