JOB SUMMARY
The Part-Time Audio Technician / A2 Programmer supports the operation, programming, and maintenance of all audio equipment used by the Entertainment Group. This role plays an important part in the successful execution of live events and may also assist in the creative development and integration of audio systems, lighting, and video when needed.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot audio cables and equipment, including digital/analog consoles, audio analysis tools, and editing software.
- Manage and configure back-of-house audio systems.
- Assist in assembling speaker and line arrays for optimal audio distribution.
- Monitor and manage microphone frequencies and placements to ensure clear, consistent audio.
- Assist with software and hardware installations and upgrades.
- Serve as Audio Lead (A1) or Assistant Audio Technician (A2) for concerts, live shows, and special events as scheduled.
- Provide shift support for various events and performances.
- Follow Environmental, Health & Safety procedures and actively support team compliance.
- Work directly with live music performers to coordinate schedules and equipment needs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 5 years of experience in audio programming and live audio mixing, or equivalent education and experience.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Proficiency in operating Behringer, Yamaha, and Midas digital/analog consoles.
- Familiar with real-time audio analysis tools and software.
- Experience with audio systems including JBL, LEA, Klipsch, and QSC.
- Knowledge of Crestron, Q-Sys, and Dante digital audio networking.
- Ability to work flexible, event-based hours including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Fluent in spoken English, with strong communication skills for coordinating with performers, team members, and event staff.
- Consistent attendance is a job requirement.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Technical School or associate degree (AA)
- Bachelor's degree in related field
