ProSidian seeks a Court Reporter based at Portland VA Medical Center to support an engagement for Government - Federal (USA) Sector Clients, a federal Cabinet-level agency that provides near-comprehensive healthcare services to eligible military veterans at VA medical centers and outpatient clinics nationwide. Candidates will perform court reporting services for the Western States Network Consortium.
Requirements
This non-exempt, contract contingent position aligns with the Court Reporter labor category. Candidates must have the skill set, experience and training necessary to produce accurate, timely, appropriately bound and indexed transcribed testimony from witnesses.
Must be competent, efficient, and possess the experience, training and education in court reporting with adequate equipment to produce accurate transcripts.
Must be proficient in English to read portions of transcripts during proceedings and clarify inaudible statements. Experience with AIB, EOH, MSPB or arbitration hearings is preferred.
Must be competent to administer oaths; depositions must be transcribed by a duly authorized notary.
Must be able to accommodate any turnaround requested by the client and deliver thorough, accurate, appropriately documented work products that comply with established criteria.
All employees must conduct themselves in the highest possible standards of ethical and business conduct and meet milestones and delivery schedules as outlined.
The position requires consecutive employment in a comparable role within the past five years, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and the ability to use a computer to communicate via email.
Technical proficiency in speaking, understanding, reading and writing English fluently.
Physical requirements: bend, pull, push, lift up to 20 pounds, reach, walk, stand and sit for extended periods.
Credentialing: high school diploma or equivalency; at least one year of experience in court reporting and holding a National Court Reports Association (NCRA) Registered Professional Reporter (RPR) certification or equivalent.
Travel may be required for meetings, events and site visits; travel must be coordinated with the technical point of contact and pre-approved in writing by the Contracting Officer.
U.S. citizenship required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Adobe.
All ProSidian staff must be eligible for Facility Access Authorization by the USG’s designated Security Office.
