The Automation Technical Lead plays a critical role in driving the successful delivery of automation projects within the packaging team. This role is responsible for overseeing the XMPie Development building and executing data‑driven print and cross‑media marketing campaigns. The ideal candidate should have hands‑on experience with XMPie tools, a solid understanding of variable data workflows, and the ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver personalized communication solutions.

Key responsibilities

  • Build Personalized Campaigns in XMPie: Use uCreate Print, uDirect, and uProduce to develop and execute variable data print (VDP) and digital campaigns based on client specifications.
  • Template Development with Adobe InDesign & uCreate: Design and modify InDesign templates with dynamic content using uCreate Print, ensuring accurate personalization across various output formats.
  • Cross‑Media Setup & Execution: Configure multi‑touch, multi‑channel campaigns (print) using uProduce and uPlan, ensuring all elements are dynamically linked and data driven.
  • Testing, QA, and Troubleshooting: Identify data mismatches and provide solutions for campaign accuracy and scalability.
  • I collaborate with designers, data analysts, and project managers to ensure project goals are met on time, and maintain clear documentation of templates, logic, and campaign workflows.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in a production environment, with at least 3 years in a technical lead or project management role.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a design‑related discipline (e.g., Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Information Design, Interaction Design).
  • Expert‑level proficiency in XMPie, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  • Experience with workflow automation tools such as Switch (a plus).
  • Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for AI, automation, a knack for problem‑solving, and a desire to make a real impact.
  • Strong strategic and technical skills. Ability to assess complex problems and formulate and implement solutions.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Trustworthy in a confidential environment. Supportive of company values.

Salary range

Pay Range: $93,000 - $123,500 Annually
