Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in art or a combination of education and experience commensurate with the requirements of this position.
• Extensive 3‑D ceramic studio experience, including working knowledge of loading, firing, and maintenance of all kinds of kilns, ordering ceramic materials, making glazes, and assisting students in the ceramics studio.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.

Primary Responsibilities

• Support the ceramic and sculpture programs at Sul Ross State University.
• Assist with other studio classes as needed.
• Train student workers in the ceramics/sculpture area.
• Load and unload kilns.
• Implement studio safety guidelines.
• Assist faculty with installation of exhibitions in the galleries and student pop‑up art shows.
