Our client is a technology-driven marketplace platform that connects businesses with emerging talent and gig workers. They focus on creating efficient pathways for companies to access flexible support while providing opportunities for individuals to gain experience and grow their careers. Leveraging data-driven search, matching, and recommendation systems, their platform is designed to deliver reliable connections that drive outcomes for both sides of the marketplace.
Position Overview:
They are seeking a
Brand Marketing Manager
to own their brand voice and drive authentic engagement across a dual‑audience ecosystem. This person will craft campaigns that resonate with Gen Z students while building credibility with enterprise brand partners – balancing cultural fluency with business sophistication.
This is a hands‑on role for someone who lives at the intersection of Gen Z culture and brand strategy. The Brand Marketing Manager will execute full‑cycle campaigns from concept to measurement, manage creator partnerships, and ensure their brand shows up authentically across every touchpoint.
Key Responsibilities:
Brand Strategy & Creative Execution
Define and evolve the brand voice across Gen Z (student) and B2B (brand partner) audiences
Lead integrated marketing campaigns spanning social, influencer, experiential, and PR initiatives
Create dual‑audience content strategies that drive student acquisition and brand partner engagement
Develop thought leadership positioning the company as the category leader in Gen Z career platforms
Own strategy and execution across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts (Gen Z focus) and LinkedIn (B2B focus)
Partner with social media manager to create engaging content while maintaining hands‑on execution capability
Experiment with emerging platforms and formats before they hit mainstream adoption
Monitor performance metrics and iterate based on data‑driven insights
Build and scale influencer marketing programs from sourcing through ROI measurement
Manage creator relationships and partnerships that authentically represent the mission
Develop repeatable processes for creator discovery, outreach, contract negotiation, and performance tracking
Create case studies and success stories that showcase program effectiveness to internal stakeholders
Execute cross‑channel campaigns with clear attribution and measurement frameworks
Coordinate experiential activations and events that drive community engagement
Monitor brand health metrics and sentiment across target audiences
Collaborate with product and sales teams to ensure brand consistency across all customer touchpoints
Qualifications:
This role is built for a
hands‑on, culturally fluent brand marketer
who can balance Gen Z authenticity with enterprise sophistication — someone who thrives on creating, iterating, and proving impact in a fast‑moving startup.
Have
4–6 years
of experience in brand, content, or social marketing — ideally within
consumer tech or dual‑audience platforms.
Have
managed influencer programs end‑to‑end
with measurable ROI and campaign documentation.
Bring
3+ years of hands‑on short‑form video experience
(TikTok, Reels, Shorts) with examples of high‑performing or viral content.
Can
code‑switch between audiences
— crafting TikTok content for students and LinkedIn thought leadership for brand partners.
Understand both
creative storytelling and performance metrics
— you track what works and iterate fast.
Are comfortable
executing personally
while managing contractors and a small creative team.
Have genuine interest in
Gen Z culture, career innovation, and marketplace startups.
❌
This role is not for you if you:
Come from a traditional brand marketing background with large teams or agencies.
Have only marketed to
one audience type
(either B2B or D2C).
Prefer strategy over execution — this role requires both.
Need heavy structure, layers of approval, or detailed briefs to perform.
Lack firsthand experience creating social or influencer content.
What they offer:
Performance‑based incentive structure
Meaningful equity in a high‑growth startup
Health, dental, and vision insurance
Unlimited PTO and flexible work arrangements
Professional development opportunities and conference attendance
Relocation support for outstanding candidates willing to move to Los Angeles
