CAD Designer A. O. Smith Corporation seeks a CAD Designer to support design and documentation of water heating and treatment equipment. The position is hybrid, offering onsite, remote, or hybrid options. Responsibilities Draft designs under the direction of engineers and may manage some work independently. Assist engineers in the design cycle for new products. Create and modify engineering drawings and specifications using computer‑aided design software. Participate in daily engineering changes and CAD work as directed by engineers or designers. Work on advanced projects as experience grows. Maintain CAD data and support the PLM system including BOM and engineering change processes. Qualifications Associate Degree in Engineering Graphics, Engineering Design, or a related field. 3+ years of related work experience or training. SolidWorks certification preferred; SAP experience preferred. Strong knowledge of drafting standards and sheet‑metal design. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Project management skills – ability to meet deadlines and understand the full project scope. Experience managing 2–3 full design projects with successful launch. Fast turnaround on design requests and familiarity with manufacturing processes. Education Associate Degree in a related field.
