You will translate the enterprise vision for a modern, cloud-native, AI-enabled data ecosystem into practical architectures and solution designs that deliver measurable business outcomes. This role is ideal for a strategic problem solver who can connect architecture to execution—bridging data strategy, technical design, and business enablement. As a bridge between architecture, engineering, product, and experience, you will connect long-term strategy to practical design. As the Principal Solution Designer, you will translate vision into end-to-end solution designs and technical roadmaps—ensuring strategy becomes reality through scalable, high-quality, and business-aligned solutions. Continuing education to maintain thorough knowledge of technical domains along with staying current in latest technologies12+ years of experience in solution architecture and technology development with deep expertise in data platforms, cloud ecosystems, and enterprise-scale integrations4+ years of experience in strategic planning and setting technical direction Experience influencing enterprise architecture, data governance, and/or product strategy across multiple teams or domainsStrong systems thinking and ability to balance business value, technical feasibility, and user experience in design decisions Executive presence and storytelling ability to simplify complex architecture for senior audiences Demonstrated experience designing cloud-native systems with a focus on scalability, resilience, and securityDeep knowledge of data governance, metadata management, lineage, and quality practices at scaleTarget is one of the world’s most recognized brands and one of America’s leading retailers.
