Technical Designer (Women's)
We are seeking an experienced Women’s Technical Designer to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Merchandising, Design, and Product Development teams to ensure the flawless technical execution of women’s performance and lifestyle apparel products across multiple seasons. Your focus will be on accurate garment measurements, quality assurance, and construction standards to deliver consistent fit, form, and function.
Base pay range $95,000.00/yr – $110,000.00/yr
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain high standards of design detail, fit accuracy, and product quality.
Create and update detailed tech packs that include measurements, construction notes, and grading using tools such as Illustrator, Excel, and PLM software.
Manage the sample process independently from tech pack development to production, conducting careful review and communicating revisions clearly.
Lead fittings, perform garment measurements, and provide detailed feedback to overseas vendors, emphasizing construction and workmanship quality.
Troubleshoot technical design challenges in a fast-paced environment and proactively elevate issues impacting timelines or quality.
Coordinate with overseas suppliers to resolve fit and quality concerns efficiently.
Track prototype and pre‑production samples, maintain style histories, and manage communications regarding any production delays.
Support additional technical design responsibilities as needed and remain open to travel opportunities to supplier locations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in technical design, preferably in women’s activewear or lifestyle apparel.
Strong knowledge of garment construction methods, industry-standard finishings, and assembly techniques.
Proficient with PLM systems (Centric preferred), Adobe Illustrator, Excel, and Google Workspace.
Ability to manage a high volume of styles and meet critical deadlines with excellent organizational skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative and solution-oriented approach.
Willingness to participate in regular supplier calls and travel domestically and internationally as required.
