We are seeking a highly skilled Tech Designer to join our product creation team, bringing precision, energy and innovation to the development of performance and lifestyle apparel for Men's, Women's and Youth. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of fit, construction and materials for surf, fish, outdoor and sportswear categories - and thrives in a fast-paced environment that blends creativity with technical execution.
This mid–senior level role is responsible for translating design intent into production-ready garments, partnering cross-functionally with Design, Product, Materials and Factory teams to deliver on-brand, high-quality and commercially viable product.

Base pay range $50,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain detailed technical packages (tech packs), ensuring accuracy of measurements, construction details, BOMs and material specs.
Collaborate closely with designers to interpret sketches and bring concepts to life through technical development.
Manage the fit process from initial prototype through final approval - providing precise pattern corrections and communicating adjustments to overseas vendors.
Lead prototype fittings, documenting feedback and maintaining fit standards across categories.
Partner with materials and sourcing teams to ensure fabric, trims and finishes meet performance and aesthetic requirements.
Drive technical consistency and quality across multiple product lines including performance and lifestyle knits, shorts, outerwear, fleece and woven tops.
Communicate daily with factories, mills and vendors to problem-solve construction issues, track samples and ensure timely development.
Support seasonal development calendars by ensuring all technical deliverables meet key milestones.
Champion innovation in construction, wash, and finishing techniques that enhance performance, durability and brand storytelling.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree or certification in patternmaking, Apparel Manufacturing, Design or equivalent.
4+ years of experience in technical design or apparel development.
Deep understanding of fit, grading, pattern shapes and garment engineering.
Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, PLM systems and Microsoft Office; 3D garment design experience (e.g., Clo, Browzwear) is a plus.
Proven ability to manage multiple product lines under tight deadlines with exceptional attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills across design, product and factory partners.
Passion for the outdoors, surf culture and active lifestyles - with an eye for balancing performance and style.
