Position Overview
Exact Sciences Strategy, Research & Insights team is responsible for identifying, defining, and driving innovative, immersive, and memorable customer‑centric journeys for all our customers, across all channels (digital and physical). The Sr. UX Researcher lives and breathes user experience and research. They are full of curiosity about the whole human—understanding their challenges, behaviors, and lives—and are motivated to uncover innovative solutions based on all types of data. They are passionate about creating delightful digital solutions with a cross‑functional team and, through deep knowledge of the user and business, they seek solutions and opportunities for an improved user experience. The Sr. UX Researcher reports to the Assoc. Director, Research & Insights and is responsible for designing, executing, analyzing, and communicating custom primary qualitative and quantitative user research that deepens our understanding of all customers and key segments.
Essential Duties
Design and execute qualitative and quantitative research that is impactful, cost‑effective, and addresses business needs, including writing, programming, and analyzing surveys, and planning, moderating, and analyzing qualitative research interviews.
Oversee the vendor‑led execution of primary research (exploratory to evaluative; quantitative to qualitative, primary and secondary).
Synthesize research results, prepare clear, compelling and impactful presentations, and confidently share insights with stakeholders, leadership and partners both in person and virtually.
Work closely with other members of the Strategy, Research & Insights team to build connections between existing and emerging insights, including connecting customer satisfaction data.
Drive adoption of human‑centered design thinking in development of all CX, Marketing, and other enterprise strategy communications.
Manage and prioritize multiple research and insights projects in parallel.
Ability to work both independently and within a team.
Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.
Support and comply with the company’s Quality Management System policies and procedures.
Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
Ability to act with an inclusion mindset and model these behaviors for the organization.
Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
Ability to travel 20% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Research, Customer Insights, Human Factors, Psychology, Marketing or related field of study; or High School Degree/General Education Diploma (GED) and 4 years of relevant experience as outlined in the essential duties in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.
5+ years of experience in market or UX research, customer experience and/or marketing.
Demonstrated proficiency in learning, implementing, and managing primary qualitative and quantitative market and/or UX research.
Demonstrated ability to effectively engage and communicate in a constructive and collaborative relationship with a cross‑functional team that includes designers, product managers, subject matter experts (SMEs), and company leaders.
Demonstrated ability to learn, understand, and break down complex business operation functions, customer journeys, user needs, and workflows.
Experience with UX research utilizing various methods such as usability studies, contextual inquiry, or surveys.
Demonstrated proficiency in communicating user research findings with cross functional partners to drive impact.
Proficient with variety of visual design software tools including Miro, Adobe Suite, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft tools.
Ability to create and organize files in a manner that allows for quick retrieval and efficient updates.
Proficient with basic computer skills to include Internet navigation, email usage, and word processing.
Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Data Science, Business, or field related to job duties.
Experience with research or customer experience in the healthcare sector (pharmaceutical, diagnostics, life sciences, and/or health and wellness).
Experience with statistical techniques including z‑tests, t‑tests, ANOVA, multiple regression.
Experience with survey platform(s) e.g., Survey Monkey, Qualtrics, Medallia, Survey Analytics.
Advanced skills in Excel, and familiarity with R/Python/SAS.
Salary Range $89,000.00 - $151,000.00
