Marketing and Communications Specialist

The Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA) is seeking to fill the position of

Marketing & Communications Specialist

in its Chantilly Headquarters office. This position is a hybrid role. The role requires someone who can help the team keep programs and deliverables on track, manage multiple projects at once, and proactively take part in any or all events. The candidate must have experience helping manage both internal and external projects and campaigns across all departments. Strong writing, copy-editing skills, and website management experience are required. This position requires minimal travel.

Specific Skills and Abilities

Website Support

: Update the website and assist in managing chapter websites.

Project Management & Coordination

: Serve as the point person for the Marketing & Communications team to manage deliverables, coordinate with other departments, and ensure timely execution for all marketing projects.

Content Creation

: Assist in the development and creation of engaging content for a variety of platforms. Collaborate with the Communications team to maintain a consistent and cohesive brand voice.

Social Media

: Assist in monitoring, scheduling, and curating content for our social media channels.

Analytics & Reporting

: Assist in utilizing analytics tools, to measure the monthly performance of communications efforts across different channels. Prepare regular reports to track key performance indicators.

Graphic Design

: Assist in creating visually appealing graphics, infographics, and promotional materials for social media and print.

Internal Communications

: Assist in developing and distributing internal communications materials, including internal newsletters and announcements.

Administrative Tasks

: Provide general administrative support to the Communications team, including the maintenance of media content, organizing the photo and video library, updating contact lists, drafting emails, and managing vendor relationships.

Event Support

: Attend events and trade shows to serve as an ambassador for SMACNA with members, the public, and the media.

Other Duties as Assigned.

This position requires a bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations, or a related field. The candidate should be comfortable using communication tools and analytics software and have advanced software, computer, and technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Adobe Creative Suite along with an understanding of WordPress. Knowledge of Sitefinity is a plus.
