We are seeking a
Director of Sales & Marketing
who shares our adventurous spirit and passion for connection. As our visionary leader, you’ll drive revenue, build partnerships, and craft campaigns that showcase our unique voice in the Miami Beach hospitality scene. Your creativity, authenticity, and leadership will elevate our presence across digital, social, and experiential channels.
Responsibilities
Meet and exceed revenue goals by developing new accounts and growing current hotel accounts in a profitable, win‑win selling approach.
Achieve a minimum of 90% of productivity goals and 100% of activity goals, as established by management.
Lead direct reports to achieve property sales goals and hold them accountable to essential duties.
Direct sales targets appointment‑oriented calls to ensure a successful direct sales program, in accordance with goals established by department budget and marketing plan.
Maximize current hotel key accounts by identifying and capturing those that offer revenue growth.
Capture competitor's accounts through networking, research, and reader board surveys to target and solicit new business.
Plan and implement a targeted account development "hit list" to create new revenue and acquire valuable hotel contacts and contracts.
Plan and implement e‑commerce and internet marketing strategies.
Promote the brand and hotel story in the market, increasing overall profitability.
Adjust the sales plan according to changes in business and marketing trends, pursue the market mix and type of group and transient business that best achieves success, and exceed budgeted goals in sales, profit, and occupancy.
Maintain current knowledge of the competition, all hotel operations, and application of state‑of‑the‑art sales techniques.
Target and prospect for new business through telemarketing, creativity, and innovation.
Use yield‑management techniques to negotiate room rates and function space commitments, enhancing financial performance.
Maintain organized, accurate, and up‑to‑date file management for client service.
Develop strong customer relations through frequent communication and professional, courteous interaction.
Create customer profiles and maintain an effective trace system, including trace dates and references to meet client needs and increase revenue.
Promptly follow up on all customer needs and inquiries efficiently.
Conduct research, surveys, and market studies to capitalize on hotel strengths and competitor weaknesses.
Focus on revenue‑producing activity and maximize selling time by dedicating at least 90% of work time to direct sales efforts.
Control expenses, including travel, to minimize hotel costs.
Represent the hotel and Sage Hospitality Resources, Inc. with integrity, professionalism, and a service‑focused approach.
Exhibit a positive team attitude, maintain open communication with all departments, and contribute to overall hotel performance.
Display a neat, clean, and business‑like appearance at all times.
Education / Formal Training Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience 4+ years of hotel sales management experience.
Knowledge / Skills
3–5 years of sales management experience.
Knowledge of general sales techniques, yield management, and customer service skills.
Ability to travel.
Fluent in English (hear, speak, read, write).
12th grade level mathematics, spelling, and reading skills.
Effective business writing skills.
Vision to read fine print and computer screens, see colors, and observe rooms in poorly lit conditions.
Understand and follow verbal/written instructions.
Organized.
Can manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Develop strong internal and customer relations.
Set and manage priorities, plan activities in advance.
Adhere to deadlines.
