Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Civil Engineering with EIT preferred. Application to sit for FE exam is required.
0-2 years of project related experience in building superstructure and foundation design.
Basic understanding of engineering design principles, drafting practices, building materials, construction methods and engineering standards.
Experience with RAM Structural System or RISA design software is desirable.
Ability to prepare contract documents, calculations and specifications.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong written and verbal communications skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to follow established office and design standards.
Ability to conduct research and stay current with industry trends, codes, and best practices.
Strong time-management skills including developing personal work schedules, coordinating with project manager needs, and balancing priorities.
U.S. Citizenship required due to potential access to classified information.
Responsibilities
Assist in field documentation and observations of existing project conditions.
Be responsible for assigned components of project engineering design.
Assist in the development of BIM and or CADD models using existing documentation, plans and surveys.
Perform basic computations and analysis.
Provide coordination with the architectural and MEP teams.
Utilize BIM and or CADD software to create and modify plans, details, schedules and other Contract Documents following office standards.
Assist in the preparation of project specifications and material quantity take-offs for project estimates as directed.
Assist in review of construction period submittals.
Attend on-site observation of the work during construction to monitor compliance with Construction Documents.
Maintain up to date knowledge of Codes and Industry Design Standards.
