You will produce a mechanical design for packaging machinery that meets the customers’ specifications using creativity and innovation
You handle all aspects of design engineering work
You provide production support to the machining and assembly areas
You use Pro/E to model purchase parts and custom parts
You draft detailed multi-view drawings of machine and products
You perform research on design of manufacturing processes
You perform prototyping activities of new product development
You evaluate and approve design changes, specifications, and drawing releases
You review product design for compliance and engineering principles, company standards, and customer’s requirements
You work with vendors, customers, and employees on a professional level
You determine problem analysis and problem resolution
You specify and order integrated tools and equipment
You troubleshoot to solve problems related to assigned projects
You create BOM’s for purchased parts and machined parts
You directly communicate with customers in the form of meetings and presentations to understand and define their needs
You travel to customer’s plant to give presentation on their system and the assemblies that make up the system
You have a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
You have at minimum 5 years of experience and knowledge in mechanical design in automation or related field
You have two years of FAI design engineering experience
You have a moderate skill level in Pro/Engineer software
You are capable of designing new concepts and standards
You are able to think ahead and plan over a 3-6 month time span
You have great leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
You have strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
You are able to travel 10% of the year
You have troubleshooting skills, both mechanical and electrical
