Freelance Motion Designer, Performance Creative

Monks is hiring a freelance motion designer to build creative for a top performance marketing agency until the end of January 2026. The role involves partnering with the media buying team and clients to develop high‑performance paid media ads across digital channels.

Responsibilities

• Animate paid media ads for Facebook, Google, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube and other digital channels.
• Produce motion and short‑form video content that drives results.
• Collaborate with designers and producers to create performance‑oriented ad creatives.
• Manage multiple projects, meet tight timelines, and handle revisions and resizing for large clients.
• Conceptualize animated content optimized for paid media channels and stay updated on channel best practices.
• Use Adobe Creative Cloud apps, especially After Effects and Premiere Pro.

Soft Skills

• Self‑starter, problem‑solver and team player.
• Communicate animation concepts effectively and defend design decisions.
• Apply best practices and bring fresh angles to motion workflows.
• Receive and incorporate client and team feedback.
• Motivated to push creative limits and pursue personal development.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of technical experience in motion design and video editing, preferably at a performance‑focused agency.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating paid media animation work.
• Proficiency with Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro.
• Experience in paid media ad animation.
• Four‑year college degree (design preferred) or equivalent experience.

Preferred (Not mandatory)

• HTML5 ad animation experience.
• Use of Gen AI tools for ad builds and concepting.
• Versioning workflows or automated versioning tools.
• Google suite familiarity.
• B2C and B2B experience.

Benefits & Compensation

• Hourly Rate: $33–$38 USD.
• Full‑time freelance until Jan 2026.
• Role subject to Return to Office policy.
