Job Description

UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking an entry‑level Web Designer to join Academic Technology‑Web Services, a unit within UFIT.

UFIT Web Services has an opening for a Web Designer. We are seeking an applicant experienced with creating visually appealing web designs that adhere to ADA standards. Ability to use design tools such as Figma is a plus. Knowledge of industry web design standards is a must. The successful candidate will design and deliver accessible and engaging web interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

• Design websites for our customers in UFIT supported web content management systems
• Collaborate with peers to design and implement user driven web accessible templates and interfaces for ease of use
• Experience using design tools such as Figma
• Strong customer service skills and self‑motivation a must.
• Knowledge of web accessibility standards and WCAG 2.1.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree; or an associate’s degree and two years of appropriate experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Firm understanding of digital content and web design for the internet and interactive platforms, HTML, CSS, and current software tools used to create superior designs
• Pays close attention to details
• Have strong customer service experience
• Firm understanding of web design tools
• Knowledgeable of web trends and direction
• Self starter
• A bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience; or an associate’s degree and four years of appropriate experience
