The Digital Marketing Manager amplifies LifeLine Animal Project’s mission and brand through the strategic execution of lifesaving marketing efforts. This position is responsible for the creation and distribution of content through email, website, SEO/SEM, blogs, and digital media channels. This role will be critical in understanding and supporting the organization’s most pressing needs while maintaining brand standards and increasing overall organization awareness and impact. This is a highly creative and technical role that is perfect for someone looking to have a direct impact on saving lives and helping the animals in our shelters and communities.

Employment Status This is a temporary role with potential for transition to full-time employment, contingent upon performance and business needs.

Marketing Manager

Assist with strategies to increase brand awareness, adoptions and fundraising for the organization and drive traffic to our digital properties and physical locations to help save lives.

Assist with project management for all marketing campaigns, creating timelines and team tasks via Asana.

Provide competitive analysis, identify industry trends and best practices, and optimize campaigns based on those insights.

Evaluate and improve customer experience across multiple channels and touchpoints (shelters, clinics, community outreach, events) through our website and technology.

Report and analyze web traffic, search and e-newsletter data and make strategic recommendations to improve communications and engagement.

Courageously participate and represent LifeLine at in-shelter and offsite events (may require weekend participation).

Increase brand sales and lead merchandising, e-commerce strategy and fulfillment/shipping for all retail sales, in our online store and in our shelters.

Create and traffic digital billboard assets to media partners.

Web and SEM Content Manager

Take responsibility and manage execution of the editorial calendar for LifeLine, FCAS and DCAS web sites.

Create campaign landing pages and optimize user experience for maximum conversions.

Lead organization blog strategy to increase thought leadership and awareness.

Increase and convert traffic from sites utilizing Google Ads, Analytics, and Webmaster Tools.

Manage SEO/SEM campaign implementation and optimization.

Manage Google Ads campaigns, adhering to grant rules and regulations to keep our account in good standing.

Improve the usability, design, content and conversion of all websites.

Serve as technical lead for website issue research and resolution.

Build community with internal teams for optimal technology integrations to increase donations, adoptions, fostering, and support for organizational needs, while keeping the customer experience top of mind.

Email Campaign Administrator

Manage bulk email process, including adherence to editorial calendar, thoughtful aggregation of content and audience segmentation for email database and email management.

Work with teams to collect, upload and tag various email marketing lists for segmentation.

Help identify the best stories and write compelling content to increase newsletter engagement.

Develop highly engaging email content for key audiences: adopters, donors, major donors, board members, volunteers, fosters and staff.

Work with shelter and development teams to develop strategic and compelling emails that drive support for organizational needs.

Utilize ActiveCampaign to design, develop and send all email campaigns.

Actively track and report email metrics against KPIs and implement recommendations to optimize performance.

Successfully grow a healthy and engaged contact database.

Qualifications and Preferred Experience

Have compassion for animals and the people who love and care for them

Comfort handling animals of all types and sizes

Email/ECRM experience with writing, creating, and implementing e‑marketing campaigns

Strong project management and technical background

Solid technical knowledge and experience with website analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics and Google Search Console)

Some knowledge of HTML, CSS, and UX best practices

Strong creative and writing abilities

Strong communication and project management experience

Strong attention to detail and follow‑up

Creative idea generator and collaborative partner

Ability to serve the public and fellow employees with honesty and integrity

Must pass a background check

Education BS/MS degree in marketing or a related field.

While performing the duties of this job, employee may be exposed to unpleasant kennel smells. May encounter dogs and cats that are stray, injured, diseased or vicious.
