Assistant Nurse Manager
The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) is a professional Registered Nurse reporting to the unit director/manager who utilizes the nursing process to manage clinical and operational activities within the assigned shift. The ANM supports the director/manager in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating services of the unit and provides managerial presence for all shifts. The ANM manages clinical and non‑clinical caregivers and provides input to the director/manager for performance evaluation. Duties include compliance with professional nursing standards and regulatory requirements, implementation and monitoring of policies, processes and clinical priorities, and coaching, mentoring and collaboration to deliver quality health care to patients.
Required Qualifications
Graduate from a School of Nursing (BS, or BSN). Registered Nurses employed in this role prior to November 1, 2024 are encouraged to pursue the BSN degree but obtaining the degree will not be a condition of employment.
Alaska Registered Nurse License upon hire.
National Provider BLS – American Heart Association upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
Recent clinical experience in an acute care hospital.
Charge Nurse/Relief Charge Nurse experience.
Leadership experience.
Shared Governance experience.

Location & Schedule Providence Alaska Medical Center – Anchorage, AK. Full‑time, 1.0 FTE, 8‑hr day shifts, 40 hours per week.
Pay Range $59.39 – $93.75 per hour. Additional compensation may be available for shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
