Job Title: Communications Specialist – Thought Leadership & Executive Visibility
Location: Hybrid (Atlanta, GA or Kansas City, KS preferred) | Open to Virtual
Employment Type: Full-Time Contract
Schedule: Monday–Friday, full-time (approx. 40 hrs/week)
Role Overview:
We’re seeking a highly skilled Communications Specialist to support our client’s Retail Solutions thought leadership and executive visibility programs. This contractor role plays a critical part behind the scenes—delivering high-quality copywriting, managing complex communications projects, and collaborating with internal stakeholders and external agencies.

who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and can work independently with minimal oversight.
Key Responsibilities: Content Development & Copywriting:
Write and edit high-impact thought leadership materials including eBooks, blogs, articles, bylines, and research reports.
Develop and refine executive speeches, presentations, and talking points for internal and external audiences.
Adapt content across multiple channels while maintaining consistent brand voice and messaging.
Support the creation of signature thought leadership assets and related materials.
Project Management:
Oversee timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communications for multiple ongoing projects.
Coordinate workflows across internal teams and external agencies.
Track project progress, identify risks, and proactively problem-solve to meet deadlines.
Maintain detailed project documentation and quality control for all deliverables.
Create and manage project and creative briefs, as well as regular status reports.
Agency Partnership Management:
Serve as the primary liaison for creative and content agencies.
Brief agencies on project requirements, brand guidelines, and deliverables.
Review and provide feedback to ensure alignment with business and communication objectives.
Manage agency workflows to ensure timely, high-quality output.
Qualifications: Required:
3+ years of professional experience in corporate communications, content development, or related field.
Exceptional writing and editing skills with a strong, diverse portfolio.
Experience supporting senior executives or C-suite communications.
Proven project management experience handling multiple priorities.
Agency management experience, including briefing and evaluating external partners.
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
Ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred:
Experience in automotive, retail, or B2B technology sectors.
Knowledge of integrated thought leadership campaigns and multi-channel content strategies.
Background in corporate thought leadership program development.
