smartdept. inc. is searching for a Marketing Automation & Email Experience Manager for a medical device industry client located in Sunnyvale, CA. The ideal candidate will come with 3–5+ years of experience. This is a year long contract, primarily remote with purposeful onsite with the possibility of extension.

This role blends creative email design with hands-on Marketo execution. You’ll build visually compelling emails and landing pages, execute global campaigns, optimize workflows, and collaborate with creative, brand, and regional marketing teams to ensure exceptional customer experiences.

What You’ll Do

Design and build responsive, mobile-friendly, dark-mode-optimized emails and landing pages using Marketo and Knak.

Develop, launch, and optimize Marketo programs for email sends, nurtures, webinars, and events.

Code and troubleshoot HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Velocity scripting for personalized experiences.

Conduct QA, rendering tests, and deliverability checks through Email on Acid, Litmus, or Knak.

Run A/B tests, analyze metrics, and recommend improvements in design, segmentation, and engagement.

Collaborate with stakeholders on UX/UI, audience targeting, and campaign optimization.

Explore new personalization methods, automation techniques, and integrations to enhance customer journeys.

What You’ll Need

3–5 years of hands‑on Marketo experience; proficiency in Knak, Litmus, or Email on Acid.

Advanced HTML/CSS and strong responsive email development skills.

Experience designing and testing email and landing page templates.

Working knowledge of JavaScript and Velocity scripting.

Familiarity with Figma, Photoshop, or Dreamweaver.

Strong communication, project management, and stakeholder alignment skills.

Keen eye for detail, design, and brand consistency.

Education / Experience

B.S. degree preferred.

2–3+ years building emails and landing pages.

Nice-to-Have Skills

Experience in regulated industries (medical device, pharma, healthcare).

Exposure to Veeva PromoMats or other content approval tools.

Understanding of marketing data standards, GDPR, and automation best practices.
