Rice Engineering, Inc. is seeking a skilled and collaborative

BIM Designer

to join our drafting team. This role plays a crucial part in enhancing project delivery through accurate design documentation, clash detection, and project visualization. The ideal candidate will work closely with architects, engineers, and construction professionals to implement and support effective BIM workflows throughout the project lifecycle.

At Rice Engineering your responsibilities will be:

Use

Revit

to develop and maintain accurate 3D BIM models for structures, building components, cladding, or panel facades.

Interpret architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and engineering calculations to develop detailed submittal drawings.

Manage all aspects of model layout, input, coordination, submittal drawing creation, and as‑built documentation for assigned projects.

Create and maintain BIM models throughout the project lifecycle.

Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and contractors/installers to ensure coordination and project success.

Review of contract documents to provide bid estimates.

Respond to technical questions and resolve issues by making appropriate revisions to plans and drawings.

Oversee and train a team of Revit modelers, ensuring consistent training, task organization, and model development efficiency.

Review and approve BIM models to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with project standards.

Qualifications/ Education:

Associate degree in Architectural Drafting or BIM Technical degree, or equivalent work experience in building information modeling (BIM) trade school, engineering, or a related field

Revit: Minimum 4 years of BIM LOD 350 modeling experience required.

AutoCAD: 2 years (Not Required, willing to learn)

Emphasis in problem solving and analytical thinking.

Passion to learn and constant desire for improvement.

Work well independently and in a team environment

Excellent computer skills, including experience using Bluebeam and Microsoft Office software is a plus.

Basic skills to read, interpret and understand architectural and structural plans, drawings, and specifications required.
