About the Role
The Mandel JCC is seeking a creative and organized social media marketer to support the organization's presence across its social media channels. This role focuses on writing, creating, scheduling, and publishing engaging organic content that reflects the Mandel JCC's mission, programs, and community spirit.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing, you will collaborate with the marketing team and creative partners to plan and post content, write compelling captions, engage with our audiences, and monitor performance. This position is ideal for someone who loves storytelling through social media and can balance creativity with attention to detail.
This is a part-time contractor position (approximately 20 hours per week).

About the Role
The Mandel JCC is seeking a creative and organized social media marketer to support the organization's presence across its social media channels. This role focuses on writing, creating, scheduling, and publishing engaging organic content that reflects the Mandel JCC's mission, programs, and community spirit.

This is a part-time contractor position (approximately 20 hours per week).
Key Responsibilities
Social Media Management
- Manage day-to-day activity across existing social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube); familiarity with X and TikTok is a plus.
- Write, edit, and publish compelling copy for posts, stories, and short-form videos, adapting tone and style for each platform.
- Collaborate with the creative team, which produces most visual and video content, while creating simple assets independently as needed (such as photos, short videos, and graphics using smartphones or in-app editing tools).
- Build and maintain a social media content calendar to ensure consistent, timely, and aligned posting across channels.
- Schedule posts using Sprout Social and native platform tools.
- Monitor social media channels daily, engaging with followers, responding to comments and messages, and maintaining a positive and brand-appropriate tone.
- Apply platform best practices and hashtag strategies to improve reach and engagement.
- Track performance using analytics tools and provide brief summaries or insights to the Senior Director to help guide content strategy.
- Work closely with the Senior Director of Marketing to align content with organizational priorities and campaigns.
- Coordinate with internal departments to gather stories, photos, and updates for social media.
- Stay current with social media trends, tools, and best practices to bring fresh ideas to the team.
- Uphold professional standards and act in the best interest of the Mandel JCC.
- Follow the JCC's code of ethics and policies, maintaining confidentiality and showing respect for colleagues, members, and the diverse community we serve.
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of two years of experience managing social media channels for a brand, nonprofit, or organization.
- Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to create engaging captions and adapt voice across platforms.
- Experience scheduling and managing content using social media management tools such as Sprout Social or similar.
- Comfortable creating short-form content (photos, videos, Stories, Reels) using smartphones and editing tools.
- Understanding of social media metrics and how to interpret insights to improve performance.
- Strong aesthetic sense, attention to visual detail, and ability to maintain brand consistency.
- Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work on-site at the Mandel JCC in Beachwood, Ohio, as needed.
