About the Role
The Part-Time Video Producer/Editor will play a vital role in capturing and sharing the stories that make the Mandel JCC so special. From summer camps and fitness programs to cultural events, early childhood education, and adult programs, the JCC touches many lives every day in meaningful ways, and we want to bring those moments to life through engaging video content.
In this role, you'll shoot high-quality footage using professional equipment, capturing both interviews and b-roll across a variety of programs and events. You'll then edit this footage into compelling videos tailored for various social media and digital platforms. Strong storytelling instincts, solid editing skills, and a good sense of visual pacing are key. Basic motion graphics knowledge is a plus.
You will join a team that already includes a talented part-time video editor, collaborating on projects and supporting each other's work. Additionally, you'll work alongside other creative professionals, making this an exciting and supportive environment for your creativity.
This part-time contractor position reports to the Senior Director of Marketing and collaborates closely with the marketing team to ensure content is timely, brand-aligned, and impactful.
Expectations of Role
• Represent the Mandel JCC brand and mission with professionalism and creativity.
• Collaborate effectively with the existing video editor and the marketing team.
• Ensure timely turnaround of video projects and clear communication around timelines and needs.
• Contribute to a positive and fun working environment while supporting multiple departments across the organization.
Essential Responsibilities
• Capture high-quality video footage, including interviews and b-roll, of JCC programs, events, member stories, and other initiatives using professional equipment.
• Edit videos for social media and digital platforms using Adobe Premiere Pro.
• Ensure videos align with brand standards and are optimized for target platforms (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, etc.).
• Add basic motion graphics, including lower thirds, titles, transitions, and end cards as needed.
• Archive footage in an organized manner for future use.
• Coordinate with staff to schedule filming times and access needed resources or spaces.
• Manage multiple projects at a time and adjust quickly to shifting priorities.
• Other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate - Requirements
• 2+ years of experience in video production and editing, preferably in a nonprofit, agency, or content marketing environment.
• Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro. Basic experience with After Effects or motion graphics tools is a strong advantage. Familiarity with other Adobe Creative Cloud tools is a plus.
• Strong sense of visual storytelling, pacing, and tone.
• Experience capturing both interviews and b-roll using DSLR or mirrorless cameras.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively on location.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Willingness to learn and use project management tools like Monday.com to collaborate effectively within the marketing team.
• Strong interpersonal skills; comfortable interviewing subjects and working in diverse community settings.
• Ability to lift and transport video equipment as needed.
• A portfolio demonstrating previous video production and editing work is required for consideration.
Position Details
• Part-time contractor role: 20-25 hours per week.
• On-site work required at the Mandel JCC in Beachwood, OH. This is not a remote position. Occasional filming at camp sites and off-site events.
• Availability to work some evenings or weekends if necessary, depending on events and shooting needs.
• Hourly rate based on experience.
• While this role is currently a contractor position, there may be future opportunities for expanded responsibilities or transition to a staff role.
