Job Description We are seeking an experienced Audio-Visual Solutions Engineer in Richmond, VA, responsible for providing technical support and design solutions for our account management and technical teams. The successful candidate will assess customer needs, design audio‑visual systems and solutions, prepare proposals, drawings, and ensure solutions meet customer requirements. Collaboration with sales/technical teams will demonstrate the capabilities, benefits of A/V solutions and UCC platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Design customized Audio‑Visual solutions aligned to customer needs. Serve as a technical consultant to the sales team, generating functional system descriptions, block flow diagrams, equipment lists, and pricing to enable customer proposals. Assist in the preparation of proposals and drawings utilizing Visio or AutoCAD and documentation/scopes of work for customers. Conduct site surveys and customer visits for potential solutions and installation requirements. Develop and deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations. Function as the customer’s point‑of‑contact for problem identification and resolution for issues escalated by the integration team. Provide remote support to technicians and field engineers for system integration. Coordinate with technicians, field engineers, integration manager, and project manager on system scope and design. Create user guides when applicable and provide end‑user training as needed. Additional Duties and Responsibilities Continuously work to improve customer service perception and satisfaction. Document internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities. Meet with vendors/prospective vendors to evaluate products. Enter time and expenses as they occur. Post‑sales project consultation. Support in creating technical standards, processes, and procedures. Complete training programs and gain certifications as required. Program, test, and support complex audio‑visual systems for control, audio DSP with Biamp, Q‑SYS and other related configurations. Provide support for remote office and on‑site pre‑stage system testing/configuration and commissioning in a variety of customer environments. Assist with technical design, pricing and identify logistical challenges. Supervise in‑house rack testing and equipment set up for assigned projects when applicable. Perform remote and on‑site service support for completed integrated systems under Technology Management Support Plans. Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Required Experience with Crestron/Extron/Q‑SYS, Poly, Biamp, Shure, Vaddio, Zoom, Teams, etc. Manufacturer software experience/training. CTS certification recommended. Ability to read and understand project drawings and schematics, engineering notes, and operation manuals. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; MAC experience helpful. Experience performing the job responsibilities in a related industry. Excellent communication skills using tact and courtesy, managing pressure‑sensitive situations. Ability to work without direct supervision. Working knowledge of networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, firewalls, routers, VPN, and VLAN setup in an AV/IT environment. Strong interpersonal and time‑management skills. Detail oriented, multitasking abilities, and handling tight, high‑stress deadlines. Availability to work multiple shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime as project deadlines require. Reasonable travel for assignments. Professional presentation and demeanor. 3 to 5+ years in AV system design and integration, DSP & control programming a plus. Valid driver’s license.
