Summary

We’re looking for a conversion-minded video editor who knows how to make edits that amplify persuasion, emotion, and clarity, not just add flashy transitions. You’ll be working on shorter form performance-driven video ads mostly for Facebook/Instagram ads between 30 seconds and 1 minute 30 seconds.

This role is perfect for someone who loves direct response, storytelling, psychology, and pacing as much OR MORE than color grading and motion design.

What You’ll Do

  • Edit video ads for direct-response campaigns across Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram
  • Structure edits to match the rhythm of the script and voiceover, enhancing emotional beats and viewer retention
  • Use cuts, zooms, captions, music, and sound design to clarify the message, not distract from it
  • Collaborate closely with copywriters and creative strategists to align visuals with campaign goals
  • Analyze watch-time and conversion metrics to continuously refine editing style
  • Source or guide relevant stock footage, UGC, or b-roll to visually reinforce selling points (We do have a pretty big b-roll folder you can pull from too)
  • Not have to wait for US to tell you what to do, you take initiative on getting better and making better ads.
  • Have ideas on how to make the ads better or mash together your own variations if given videos/broll etc.
  • Have access to a folder of b-roll/videos etc and make different variations from it (You can lean on us for a script still)

What You Understand

  • The fundamentals of direct response psychology: attention, curiosity, desire, proof, and action
  • How editing choices influence viewer engagement and conversion (not just aesthetics)
  • How to hold emotional tension through pacing, zooms, and rhythm
  • The difference between a cool edit and an effective edit
  • The structure of hooks, and testimonials in high-converting creative

Requirements

  • 2+ years editing for paid ads, social storytelling, or direct response campaigns
  • You're able to work quickly and keep pace.
  • Proficiency in Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or DaVinci Resolve
  • Experience with motion graphics, captions, and sound design a plus
  • Portfolio demonstrating storytelling and conversion-driven editing
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

What We’re Not Looking For

  • Poor English…you can’t understand DR/persuasion if you aren’t fluent in the language.
  • Over‑edited “Alex Hormozi‑style” cuts with unnecessary zooms, black graph backgrounds or meme inserts
  • Editors who treat creative like a montage instead of a message
  • People who can make things look good but can’t explain why they convert

  • Can transform a 30‑90 second ad script/video into something people actually feel and act on
  • Care about the message, pacing, and payoff more than the filters and transitions
  • You value speed. Speed of editing but also speed of iterations. We aren’t looking for overedited videos, we are looking for editing that conveys the message/helps the script while honoring speed of turnaround.
  • This is a potential long term position with performance commissions tied to it. Also potential in leading our future editing team with compensation to follow that. Please do not apply if you trying to juggle 2‑3 things at the same time.
