Position Summary

Editor for Vertical Drama plays a key hands‑on role in shaping fast‑paced, serialized storytelling for vertical platforms. Working closely with the Lead Editor and creative team, this position supports the entire post process — from organizing footage and building assemblies to crafting short edits and polishing final cuts for release. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail‑oriented storyteller who understands how to engage audiences through vertical, short‑form drama content.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in all stages of post production for vertical drama series and short‑form narrative content.
  • Ingest, organize, and sync footage while maintaining efficient media workflows.
  • Build rough cuts, string‑outs, and edits following creative direction.
  • Edit scenes, teasers, and social cutdowns under the supervision of the Lead Editor.
  • Add temp sound, music, captions, and light motion graphics as needed.
  • Prepare and deliver content optimized for vertical formats and various social platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with producers, editors, and directors to ensure creative consistency.
  • Maintain version control and assist with QC checks on all final exports.
  • Track and meet fast‑paced delivery schedules while maintaining high quality.
  • Stay up to date with trends in vertical storytelling, editing styles, and platform best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Film, Media Production, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 1–3 years of experience in video editing or post production, preferably in vertical content.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro; experience in After Effects or DaVinci Resolve a plus.
  • Familiarity with AI‑powered editing tools and workflows (e.g., automatic transcription, smart selects, AI‑assisted color, or generative tools for post).
  • Strong understanding of vertical video composition, pacing, and storytelling for mobile audiences.
  • Excellent organization skills, with the ability to manage multiple edits and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and comfortable working in a high‑volume creative environment.
  • Passion for narrative storytelling and emerging content formats.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience editing short‑form narrative or social‑first video content.
  • Familiarity with current platform algorithms and best practices.
  • Basic knowledge of sound design, color correction, or VFX.
  • Able to work on multiple projects at once.
  • Creative problem solver with a strong visual sense and attention to detail.
