Practice Seeking candidates with diverse and hybridized backgrounds (scholar, artist, designer, developer) whose work addresses themes of gender, race, labor, accessibility and other crucial societal issues through emerging media technologies. Preferred focus on equity, civic engagement, and broadening participation via activism, advocacy, design justice, or related strategies.

Candidates should be materially working with emerging media technologies and design practices in one or more of the following areas: visual design, web tools, machine learning, extended reality (AR, VR, spatial computing) and 3D.

Teaching and Service The successful candidate will be an excellent teacher with a strong commitment to student mentorship. Responsibilities include teaching core courses for the Integrated Design & Media program and special topic courses within the candidate’s area of expertise. Expect a 2/2 teaching load with additional service. The program offers BS and MS degrees.

Qualifications

Terminal degree (MFA or PhD preferred) in digital media, media arts, design, or related fields (art, design, engineering).

Demonstrated impact on diverse communities and inclusive scholarship.

Faculty Compensation Base salary 9‑month: $80,000–$120,000. Salary determined by scope, experience, education, skills, and market factors.
