Overview Our client is seeking an experienced, forward-thinking
Chief Marketing and Membership Officer (CMMO)
to lead the global marketing, communications, and membership strategy for our international organization dedicated to advancing lung cancer research and care.
This role offers a unique opportunity to elevate our global visibility, strengthen engagement across diverse regions, and grow a worldwide community of professionals dedicated to improving patient outcomes. As part of the executive leadership team, the CMMO will influence organizational strategy and ensure that marketing and membership programs support our mission and long‑term goals.
The position reports directly to the
Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
and carries both team leadership and budgetary responsibilities. This role is based in
downtown Denver, Colorado , with a hybrid in‑office schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and execute a comprehensive global strategy for marketing, communications, and membership development. Set measurable goals that drive growth, visibility, and value for members across multiple regions and disciplines.
Integrated Brand and Membership Strategy:
Oversee and align all marketing, membership, and publication initiatives to strengthen brand consistency and create a seamless experience for members and partners around the world.
Departmental Oversight:
Provide leadership to the Marketing & Communications, Membership, and Journals teams—ensuring excellence, innovation, and collaboration across functions.
Manage departmental budgets and allocate resources strategically to support key initiatives and organizational priorities.
Contribute to long‑term planning and decision‑making as part of the senior leadership team, helping shape the organization’s global presence and strategic direction.
Mentor and empower a high‑performing professional staff. Cultivate a culture of trust, respect, and accountability that reflects the organization’s mission and core values.
Global Engagement:
Represent the organization externally as a spokesperson and ambassador. Build strong relationships with global partners, professional associations, and key stakeholders to broaden reach and strengthen reputation.
Qualifications
Deep commitment to improving outcomes for individuals affected by lung cancer and related diseases.
10+ years
of management experience, including
5+ years
in a senior or executive role within a high‑impact organization (nonprofit or association experience preferred).
Graduate degree in
Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or Healthcare Marketing
(MBA or related master’s degree strongly preferred).
Demonstrated success developing and implementing marketing and membership growth strategies on a global scale.
Expertise in digital marketing, branding, and communication campaigns.
Proven ability to lead diverse, cross‑functional teams and inspire collaboration across cultures and disciplines.
Strong financial acumen with experience managing complex budgets.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders from multiple backgrounds and regions.
International work experience is highly desirable.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally for events and meetings as needed.
