Job Summary
The Manager, Contract Marketing will lead contract marketing initiatives for assigned commercial customers, including bids, awards, special programs, contract negotiations and executions. The role serves as primary point of contact for National Accounts and Field Sales to guide contract strategy and deliver maximum return for Fresenius Kabi customers.
This position requires proactive management, collaboration across multiple Fresenius Kabi US business functions, and positive team leadership. The Manager will provide ongoing support, training, and development for the Contract Marketing team, and lead and complete projects in a matrix environment.
This is a hybrid position. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in the Lake Zurich, Illinois office three days a week. Salary range is $110,000–$125,000 per year, with eligibility for a bonus plan targeting 10% of base salary. Responsibilities
Maintain and disseminate daily business functions to pricing and contracts team.
Lead and provide guidance on all contracting activities, such as special orders, bids/RFP terms and conditions, review customer agreements, and redlining with other functional stakeholders in accordance with department and company policies.
Compile and maintain sales data and product information for bids/RFPs and RFIs.
Participate and influence contract terms for key GPO, IDN and customer agreements; may directly interface with customers on contract negotiations.
Lead and develop customer business reviews in partnership with NAMs.
Lead and develop contract strategy and coordinate bid responses in cooperation with National Accounts, IDN and Major Account Executives.
Manage workload and deadline requirements, prioritize and allocate resources, train, and motivate Contract Marketing team members.
Anticipate the consequences of business decisions while weighing multiple factors for GPO pricing, rebate and contract strategies.
Maintain working knowledge of the administration and governance of pricing relationships, membership rosters, and contract eligibility process.
Manage deadlines and follow up with key stakeholders regarding status of projects to ensure timely and accurate execution.
Collect feedback and report status from internal and external customers on business metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Prepare ad‑hoc reporting as needed.
Identify and lead process improvement opportunities and tool enhancement initiatives in coordination with stakeholders to ensure timely execution.
Proactively track, govern and lead expiring contracts or extension activities.
Provide contract recommendations and support during the new product launch process.
Complete all training requirements, including department‑specific and compliance training.
Participate in any and all reasonable work activities as assigned by management.
Ensure compliance with company documents, programs and activities related to Health, Safety, Environment, Energy, and Quality Management Systems, as per roles and responsibilities.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree required (advanced degree is a plus).
5+ years’ related experience in customer contracting, sales/marketing, pricing, including 2+ years’ leadership experience preferred.
Experience in the pharmaceutical, medical device, or related healthcare industry preferred.
Ability to work and manage change within a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
Proven ability to influence, collaborate and partner effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the commercial organization.
Clear and effective communication, listening and presentation skills accompanied by strong critical thinking, problem‑resolution and interpersonal skills.
Solid leadership skills with the ability to manage cross‑functional teams.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other ERP/database concepts (SAP, Salesforce, Veeva, Qlik, Model N).
Able to manage and prioritize multiple complex projects with demonstrated time‑management skills.
Ability to work effectively with employees and external contacts while conveying a positive, service‑oriented attitude.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound business judgment.
Ability to work flexible hours to meet business/customer needs.
