Disney Entertainment (DE) is one of the three major business segments of The Walt Disney Company, consisting of Disney's entertainment media and content businesses, including its motion picture film studios, Disney General Entertainment Content, streaming services, and international media businesses.

The primary role of the Content Planning & Analysis team is to provide analytical strategy support for the valuation of Disney’s original content and licensing decisions. The team works cross‑functionally across DE finance, direct‑to‑consumer strategy, data analytics, research, operations, marketing, and programming to translate DTC data (Hulu & Disney+) into financial decisions regarding production and acquisition of shows and films. The team works closely with senior leadership to provide strategic insights and help inform critical business decisions for the streaming and content businesses.

Job Summary The Analyst, Content Planning & Analysis will analytically evaluate investment and performance of content across Disney Streaming platforms (Disney+,) and multiple distribution windows. The role works on projects involving different content categories/genres, portfolio analyses, content engagement, third‑party licensing deal valuations, distribution and windowing decisions, and executive‑level reporting for leaders in Disney Entertainment Television (DET). The role will also contribute to the development and application of analytical methodologies and KPI tracking for evaluating content performance. The Content Planning & Analysis team collaborates closely with stakeholders from Disney Entertainment Television (DET) and finance, strategy, data analytics, research, operational marketing and scheduling teams from each brand/studio.

Responsibilities and Duties

Conduct analyses of title‑level and portfolio content performance (generally using Excel to manipulate and interpret large data sets).

Create presentations summarizing analyses of title expectations and performance, and insights on portfolio/brand/genre performance.

Build models to inform deal valuations, greenlight decisions, and windowing strategies.

Develop and update title performance forecasts.

Required Education, Experience & Skills

4‑year degree in a relevant field.

0–2 years of work experience, preferably in finance/strategy roles at media/technology companies or other quantitative fields.

Highly analytical and strong, effective communicators who can thrive in fast‑paced, high‑pressure environments.

Intellectual curiosity, focus on generating results and exhibiting the highest personal and professional standards of integrity.

Motivated, disciplined, flexible, and able to work effectively in collaborative and autonomous environments.

High aptitude and enthusiasm for complex problem solving with advanced Excel modeling skills.

Familiarity with statistical concepts and analysis.

Fluency in building visualizations of complex data sets.

Effective at writing, facilitating, and presenting analyses, and proficient with PowerPoint slide building.

High EQ and professional maturity, with demonstrated ability to engage at an executive level.

Demonstrated interest in the entertainment and/or tech industries.

Prior experience in media/entertainment is a plus, but not a prerequisite.

Compensation The hiring range for this position in California is $95,600.00 – $116,800.00 per year. The base pay will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus and/or long‑term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
