Job Summary The Communications Manager provides strategic leadership for Opportunity Partners’ internal and external communications and marketing. The role is responsible for content creation, digital strategy, community outreach, and media relations, ensuring consistent and mission-aligned messaging across all platforms. The Communications Manager oversees the organization’s website and social media presence, working collaboratively with internal teams to advance the quality of life for people with disabilities. The Communications Manager will supervise the Communication Coordinator.

Schedule: Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Salary Range: $66,000.00 to $71,000.00 based upon years of experience

How will you make a difference? As part of our team, you will: Internal Communications Manages internal communications for Opportunity Partners to help create an environment that reinforces employee engagement and fosters a culture that is both mission-focused and performance-oriented. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Creates an annual internal communications plan to enhance employee communication at all levels and ensure consistency in messaging and delivery

Builds collaborative relationships with departments to stay informed of initiatives and services to develop and manage communication plans to promote these activities

Collaborates with Development and other departments to ensure publications, print materials, website, social media, and intranet are current, correct, and consistent with overall organization mission and strategies

Oversees coordination of employee communication through a range of channels including in-person meetings, emails, e-newsletters, Teams, and the OP intranet to ensure ease of access, clarity and consistency

Collaborates with Program Services, Business Services, and Human Resources on marketing and communication plans that support goals and increase engagement

Supports Development team with messaging strategy, and special events wherever needed, including gala video coordination, script writing, and stage management

Coordinates annual OP Huddles/town hall meetings for executive team visits to engage and inform employees

Responds to requests for assistance in communicating current and/or sensitive information

External Communications and Marketing Manages external public relations to share OP’s mission, increase community engagement, and promote the organization’s brand.

Creates an annual external communications plan to promote key messages to the community, maximizing positive publicity

Develops editorial calendar for publications such as newsletters and annual report; contributing to content development and editing

Ensures the organization's brand consistency and communication quality

Researches, writes and edits award nominations of employees, people served, volunteers and business partners for community recognition programs

Administers and oversees the Communication Coordinator’s management of the organization’s website, including maintaining site relevance, organization, and the integrity of content and design development. Tracks analytics to inform strategy

Updates and oversees Charities Review Council and Charity Navigator review process

Oversee the Communication Coordinator’s work on the organization’s social media efforts, using digital storytelling to increase engagement

Ensures compliance with HIPAA regulations and privacy regarding release of information

Develops and maintains relationships with the media, writing media pitches and releases, and responding promptly to inquiries, collaborating with the VP of Advancement and the CEOs

Participates in crisis communications to create key messages, coach spokespeople, and update crisis communication plan and training

What will you bring to Opportunity Partners?

A bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Public Relations, or Journalism or equivalent

Three to five years of supervisory experience

Three to five years of communications and/or public relations experience

Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write effectively for a variety of audiences and types of media. Proficient in AP style.

Proficiency in communication technology, including Word Press, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Analytics, Memory Fox, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power BI, SharePoint)

Experience managing website platforms and CRM systems (Bloomerang)
