Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Wood Framing Panel Design Manager

to join our dynamic team. In this critical position, you will take ownership of all aspects of wood framing panel design, working at the intersection of technical precision and project coordination. This role offers the opportunity to develop deep expertise in advanced panel design software while contributing meaningfully to the evolution of our design processes and best practices. Key Responsibilities Design & Management Oversee the execution and participate in the comprehensive wood framing panel design across all project phases, from initial conception through completion Coordinate closely with project teams to plan, manage, and control accurate panel designs that meet structural and architectural requirements Participate in and lead design coordination meetings Oversee the management of design changes and maintain detailed records and documentation of all modifications and design decisions Communicate complex panel design information clearly to stakeholders, including architects, engineers, and construction teams Software & Process Development Develop advanced proficiency in panel design software and actively contribute to enhancing our software utilization and technological capabilities Support the ongoing evolution of best practices and software solutions within the organization Troubleshoot design challenges and propose innovative solutions that improve efficiency and accuracy Document processes and create standards that elevate team performance and consistency Material Management & Documentation Support Collaborate on the development and implementation of panel design for material management optimization Support project management operations including version control, document control, and drawing file management Ensure accurate and organized record-keeping of all design files, versions, and project documentation Facilitate efficient information flow across all project stakeholders Field Support & Problem Resolution Partner with field staff to clarify panel design information and resolve field conflicts regarding framing details Respond promptly to design-related questions and provide technical guidance that keeps projects on schedule Conduct site assessments or reviews when needed to understand field conditions and inform design adjustments Contribute to continuous improvement by gathering feedback from field operations Additional Responsibilities Engage in special assignments and strategic projects as assigned Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives Support training and mentoring of junior team members on design software and best practices Maintain current knowledge of industry standards, building codes, and framing innovations Lead efforts to hire and train junior designers

What We're Looking For Required Qualifications 5+ years of professional experience in wood framing design, panel design, or structural design with CAD/similar Proficiency with panel design software (MiTek Supply experience or equivalent software familiarity) Strong technical knowledge of wood framing systems, structural design principles, and building codes Excellent project management and organizational skills Strong communication abilities - both written and verbal Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously Proficiency with CAD/similar software and design documentation standards Preferred Qualifications Hands-on experience with MiTek Supply software (Supply or Sapphire platform) Experience with material estimation and optimization software Project management certification or experience coordinating complex projects Background in commercial wood framing construction Experience working in a design office or engineering firm Core Competencies Technical Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze complex design challenges and develop practical solutions Attention to Detail: Precision in design work, documentation, and communication Collaboration: Comfortable working cross-functionally with architects, engineers, project managers, and field crews Adaptability: Flexibility to manage changing project requirements and priorities Technical Proficiency: Quick learner with strong software skills and willingness to master new tools Communication: Ability to translate technical information for diverse audiences
